Festival-goers can explore a curated marketplace featuring Black-owned brands and businesses. This shopping experience supports community entrepreneurs while offering unique products and services. The marketplace has become a festival highlight over the years.
Meanwhile, attendees can discover everything from beauty products to fashion accessories. Local artisans showcase their craftsmanship alongside established brands. This creates opportunities for meaningful connections between creators and customers.
The marketplace embodies the festival’s mission to uplift Black businesses. It provides a platform for entrepreneurs to reach new audiences in a celebratory atmosphere.
Natural Hair Showcase Highlights Styling Artistry
The festival wouldn’t be complete without Camille Rose’s signature natural hair showcase. Professional stylists demonstrate the artistry and versatility of natural hair styling techniques. This celebration honors the beauty of textured hair in all its forms.
Attendees witness incredible transformations and learn about hair care practices. The showcase features various styles from protective looks to glamorous updos. Hair enthusiasts gain inspiration and practical knowledge from industry experts.
“We’re excited to bring the energy of the Beauté Noir Festival back to Atlanta,” said Janell Stephens, Camille Rose founder. She emphasized celebrating “the rich cultural heritage and artistry of our community.”
Five Years of Growing Festival Success
Beauté Noir Festival has evolved significantly since its inception five years ago. Previous editions featured powerhouse performers including Goodie Mob, MC Lyte, and Jailen Josey. The festival has also showcased King (aka Kid Saiyan) among other notable artists.
Fashion talent has received spotlight through designer showcases as well. Featured designers include Tristan Blake, Reco Chapple, and Alani Taylor. These showcases amplify the festival’s mission to celebrate multifaceted Black experiences.
Each year brings bigger crowds and more diverse programming. The festival has established itself as Atlanta’s premier celebration of Black beauty and culture.
Weekend Kicks Off with Exclusive Honoree Dinner
The celebration begins Friday night with an invite-only Honoree Dinner event. Platinum-selling rapper and TV personality Young Joc hosts this special gathering. The dinner celebrates Atlanta’s most influential voices in creativity, activism, and business.
This exclusive event sets the tone for the weekend’s festivities. Honorees represent various fields including entertainment, social justice, and entrepreneurship. Their recognition highlights the depth of talent within Atlanta’s Black community.
Stephens noted that this year’s festival reflects “the vibrancy and creativity of Black culture.” She called Atlanta’s own Mariah The Scientist “the perfect headliner to bring everything together.”
