Political activists Sharon Latson-Flemister and Dr. Tamarra Allen have announced their innovative nationwide initiative, The Big Pajama Party (BPP). Their goal aims to unite Democrats through election night pajama parties.
Nationwide Pajama Movement Takes Shape
The mother-daughter team hopes to inspire one million households to host pajama party gatherings starting November 5th. These events will continue through January 20th.
“We’re not just watching history unfold; we’re making it,” explains Latson-Flemister. Their vision combines community engagement with comfortable celebration.
The initiative encourages participants to wear items from their “House of Kam” collection during watch parties.
From Fashion to Political Action
The collection includes loungewear featuring historic HBCUs and Black fraternities and sororities. Family sets extend to pet accessories for complete household participation.
Both founders draw inspiration from Michelle Obama’s 2024 Democratic National Convention appearance. Their previous experience includes organizing during the Obama campaigns.
Their work involved voter mobilization and serving as vendors for the 2008 and 2012 inaugurations.
Empowering Small Businesses Through Politics
“We’re committed to not just giving back, we’re here to disrupt and empower small business entrepreneurs,” states Allen. The initiative includes a unique ambassador program.
Purchasers receive exclusive personal ambassador links. These links enable them to earn 10% from subsequent sales through their networks.
Additionally, the duo has launched five small business grants. Winners will be announced on Inauguration Day and receive funds during Black History Month 2025.
