Safeway Foundation significantly contributed to the celebration by providing a $200,000 gift. This generous donation helped 1,000 Oakland families receive essential Safeway gift cards during the holiday season.

Long-Term Commitment to Education
The Currys aren’t just focusing on short-term celebrations. Their foundation has committed an impressive $25 million to advance literacy in Oakland. This initiative includes professional one-on-one tutoring and comprehensive literacy programs.
In 2025, they will launch a groundbreaking library renovation project across the Oakland Unified School District. These refreshed library spaces will be equipped with new books, modern furniture, and additional support resources.
