Beloved couple Tabitha and Chance Brown have launched their first-ever fragrance collection, “Fridays by Tab – Her Business” and “Fridays by Chance – His Business.” The new scents arrived just in time for the couple’s anniversary, celebrating their decades-long relationship through distinctive fragrances and uniquely designed bottles that physically embrace one another. This launch represents their latest venture together as America’s favorite couple brings their love story to life through scent.
Celebrity Power Couple Enters Fragrance Market with Personal Touch
“We’ve both always loved fragrance—we’re true fragrance junkies,” Tabitha Brown revealed in an exclusive interview with ESSENCE. Their passion for scents led them to create something that would capture their relationship’s essence and leave a lasting legacy.
Chance Brown emphasized the importance of legacy in their decision to develop the collection. “I like the idea of our grandkids being able to say, ‘My grandparents made this,'” he shared. “I’m at the age where I think about that now—even though we don’t have grandkids yet!”
Signature Scents Reflect Individual Personalities and Shared Journey
Tabitha describes her fragrance as “Warm. Brown sugar. Hug.” Her scent features gourmand notes including vanilla, caramel, and chocolate with subtle floral undertones. The food influencer applied her culinary expertise to perfumery, studying oil mixing and scent building to create her perfect aroma.
Chance’s fragrance embodies “masculine, sexy, and long-lasting” qualities. He drew inspiration from Black cultural touchstones. “I was inspired by the scents we grew up with in Black households. You know, the oils from the man on the corner, or that lingering cologne you’d smell in church or at Howard homecoming,” he explained.
Innovative Bottle Design Symbolizes Black Love and Unity
The Browns rejected conventional perfume packaging in favor of sculptural bottles that physically connect. “When we sat down to design the bottles, we knew we didn’t want something typical. We wanted a sculpture—something that felt like us,” Tabitha explained.
The interlocking bottles represent their relationship physically. “They’re made to hug—to fit together in an embrace,” Tabitha noted. Chance added that they drew inspiration from classic Black art: “You know those Black art paintings from back in the day—the ones where the husband and wife are holding each other? Every Black household had at least one of those on the wall.”
’90s Aesthetic and Personal References Embedded in Design Details
The couple incorporated nods to their relationship’s origins throughout the design. “Our love story began in the ’90s, so the aesthetic is definitely a nod to that era,” Tabitha shared. This vintage influence creates a nostalgic yet contemporary feel.
Personal symbolism appears in subtle details. “If you look closely, you’ll see little details too. One of the bottles even has waves carved into the top—that’s him!” Tabitha revealed, referencing Chance’s old nickname, “The Wave.” These thoughtful elements make the bottles more than mere containers—they’re physical representations of their love story.
Fragrances Designed to Work Together Like Their Relationship
The Browns created their scents to complement each other when worn simultaneously. “When you layer our fragrances together? Whew! It’s next level. That’s what we’re really about—better together,” Tabitha emphasized.
This intentional layering effect mirrors their relationship philosophy. Chance explained, “Our love story had its ups and downs, just like many others.” Their fragrances reflect this journey, combining traditional elements with fresh innovations. “It’s familiar, but fresh. Traditional, but new. It smells like nothing you’ve smelled before—but it also smells like home.”
Celebrity Couple Hopes to Inspire Connection Through Scent
Beyond selling perfume, the Browns aim to strengthen relationships through their fragrances. “We want to bring people closer together with scent—the kind that makes you want to lean in, get close, linger under someone’s neck a little longer,” Tabitha shared.
The couple also envisions their business collaboration inspiring other couples. “I hope we inspire married couples to keep it in the house—to build together, to dream together, to grow through business together,” Chance said. Their fragrance line demonstrates how personal stories can transform into meaningful products while showcasing Black love and entrepreneurship.
