Publishing innovator Tamira Chapman has partnered with The Crown Publishing Group to launch Storehouse Voices. This groundbreaking imprint aims to revolutionize opportunities for Black authors.
Revolutionary Partnership Reshapes Publishing Landscape
The new venture pairs Chapman’s Storehouse In A Box with Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing Group. Together, they’re creating unprecedented access for traditionally overlooked Black voices.
Their mission focuses on promoting authentic Black storytelling through strategic partnerships and community outreach. The imprint spans both fiction and nonfiction genres.
Powerhouse Editorial Team Leads Diversity Initiative
Chapman will serve as publisher alongside an impressive editorial team. Porscha Burke joins as associate publisher, with Jennifer Baker as editorial director.
Notable authors David E. Talbert, Nia Gilliam, Demond Martin, and Cheryl Polote-Williamson have already signed with the imprint. Executive editor Chelcee Jones rounds out the leadership team.
Building Literary Bridges for Future Generations
“I am honored to launch Storehouse Voices at such a pivotal moment in our history,” Chapman shared. “The importance of amplifying Black voices has never been greater.”
Chapman emphasizes storytelling’s power to connect communities. “By presenting our community’s stories, art, and spirit, we are creating impactful legacies for generations,” she explains.
Industry Recognition and Innovation
Crown Publishing Group President David Drake celebrates Chapman’s industry-disrupting approach. “Storehouse Voices breaks publishing molds that have long needed breaking,” Drake affirms.
Chapman’s track record speaks volumes. In 2022, she earned recognition as the eighth fastest-growing woman-led enterprise globally.
Empowering Authors Through Education
The imprint builds on Chapman’s successful Women & Words initiative. Their comprehensive program includes virtual workshops and networking sessions with rising authors.
Author David E. Talbert praises Chapman’s unique approach: “No greater feeling than knowing your story is in hands as caring as capable.”
