Emerging fashion collective The Folklore is set to unveil its spectacular showroom during New York Fashion Week.
The event is poised to connect 23 diverse brands with retailers and industry influencers for what founder Amira Rasool anticipates will be a “staple on the calendar.”
Quadrupling NYFW Presence in 2024
The Folklore is gearing up for NYFW 2024 with momentum after nearly doubling its roster of represented brands. The installments last February and September each drew over 1,500 attendees.
Buoyed by this anticipated success, The Folklore plans to quadruple its showroom events annually moving forward. Alongside the February and September NYFW offerings, resort and pre-fall showrooms will launch in 2024.
“For our brands and the wider NYFW community, it is set to become a staple on the calendar,” Rasool explained. She added that The Folklore looks forward to “expanding to four physical showrooms in 2024.”
Connecting Global Talent with Retail Giants
As a platform for diverse designers, The Folklore Connect has proven to be an invaluable wholesale marketplace. It’s here that major retailers like Nordstrom, Revolve, and Shopbop discover fresh talent to feature.
The anticipated NYFW showroom represents an opportunity for buyers and media to view collections and meet brand founders. This season’s event is expected to include apparel and accessories from 6 different countries.
Both new and returning labels are expected to take part, increasing exposure for growing enterprises like Boyde, Macondia, and Orire. Alongside household names, these rising talents are set to share their goods with influential industry connectors.
SoHo Showroom Set to Bring Together Fashion Professionals
Taking place February 11th-14th, the upcoming NYFW showroom is set to welcome fashion pros into a sleek SoHo space. Retail buyers will browse products while stylists and media preview upcoming trends.
Registration will be required to attend. But for those granted access, the showroom is expected to facilitate key conversations and partnerships within the fashion sphere.
With a dazzling showroom set to debut, The Folklore seems poised to bring even more global talents into the NYFW fold. As Rasool said, four yearly showcases are set to cement them as “a staple on the calendar” for the industry’s future.
