Okoro’s connection to the University of Birmingham runs deep. She graduated with a degree in Law and Politics before embarking on a stellar legal career.
Currently, Okoro serves as Group General Counsel at Standard Chartered. She leads the bank’s Legal, Group Corporate Secretariat, and Shared Investigative Services functions.
Breaking Glass Ceilings in International Finance
Okoro’s career is marked by numerous high-profile roles. She has held positions at Schroders, Barings, and HSBC Global Asset Management.
Notably, Okoro served as Senior Vice-President and General Counsel for the World Bank Group. Her achievements in international finance earned her an OBE in the 2024 New Year Honours.
