Camille Smith Zeigler’s Atlanta home sparkles with holiday spirit through her collection of over 300 Black Santas. The collection honors her late sister’s legacy while promoting diversity during the festive season.
Growing Collection Spreads Holiday Cheer and Representation
The impressive collection began with Zeigler’s sister Brenda, who collected Black Santas until her passing in 2013. Since then, Zeigler and another sister have expanded the collection significantly.
Their collection grew substantially during the pandemic. Each Santa represents their commitment to showing children that holiday joy comes in many forms.
Coast-to-Coast Santa Collection Highlights Diversity
The sisters have gathered Santas from cities across America, including Las Vegas, Dallas, New York, and New Orleans. Their Southwest Atlanta home showcases this nationwide treasure hunt.
“When we grew up, we only saw one Santa,” Zeigler explains. “But with the way the world is now, it is imperative for our family members, our nieces and nephews, know Santa came in many different forms.”
Year-Round Dedication to Holiday Tradition
Every October, the sisters carefully unpack their 304-piece collection. These festive figures remain on display through January, creating a winter wonderland of representation.
“Santa was Santa to whoever the children were loving at that time,” Zeigler shares. Their collection reminds visitors that holiday magic transcends appearances.
