Doechii Honors Women’s Impact in Music
Doechii made a powerful statement while accepting her Billboard Women of the Year award, calling women a “necessity” in the music industry. The 26-year-old rapper reflected on her rapid rise since winning Billboard’s Rising Star award just two years ago.
“I cannot believe it was just two years ago I stood on this stage,” she said during her acceptance speech. “I danced so hard my shoes came off – that’s how I approach my career: full out, always.”
From Rising Star to Top Honor
The Tampa-born artist has seen incredible success since her Rising Star win in 2023. Her Grammy-winning EP “Alligator Bites Never Heal” and hit single “Anxiety” have cemented her place in music. She credits her authenticity for this success.
