Halle Bailey Stuns Post-Baby At People’s Choice Awards
Beloved “Little Mermaid” star Halle Bailey hit the red carpet at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards on Sunday, dazzling in a sea-inspired Roberto Cavalli gown just weeks after giving birth.
“It’s been going so great! I’m so obsessed — it’s such a task to leave the house because I don’t even want to go anywhere,” Halle told reporters about life with newborn son Halo. “I’m like rushing back to him.”
Halle’s blue and black watercolor print dress showed off her post-baby body. Her gown gave mermaid vibes with its halter neckline, drop waist, and flowing maxi length. Halle paired the look with a regal updo hairstyle fit for royalty.
Red Carpet Standouts
While Halle didn’t take home the “Female Movie Star of the Year” prize, she shined brightly on the red carpet. Other standouts included “New Artist of the Year” winner Ice Spice in a leopard print Dolce & Gabbana outfit.
Kandi Burruss glittered in a golden mini dress as she vied for “Best Reality TV Star.” Coi Leray went bold in an oversized fur coat, while icon Lenny Kravitz slew in signature black while accepting the “Music Icon Award.”
Unlike other winter awards shows, fans vote on all People’s Choice winners across pop culture categories. Other 2024 winners not in attendance included Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
Life as a New Mom
During an interview on the awards show red carpet livestream, Bailey said she’s “feeling so amazing” after welcoming son Halo in January 2024.
“I love him so much,” the 23-year-old gushed about her baby boy, whose unique name was suggested by boyfriend and rapper DDG.
Bailey kept her pregnancy private throughout 2023 as she promoted her starring role as Ariel in Disney’s live-action Little Mermaid. The blockbuster remake earned multiple 2024 People’s Choice nominations, including Halle’s “Female Movie Star” nod.
“This movie has been such a big blessing in my life, but seeing the beautiful impact it’s had on the little girls and little boys is all the confirmation I need,” she said. “I’m just so grateful and honored to be here tonight.”
Halle brought her dazzling personality and post-partum glow to the People’s Choice Awards red carpet. She continues to make major waves as her star rises to new heights.
