Ayesha and Stephen Curry have officially partnered with PLEZi Nutrition, the health food brand co-founded by former First Lady Michelle Obama. The power couple has joined as investors and brand partners, reinforcing their commitment to youth health and wellness.
PLEZi Nutrition, launched in 2023, aims to revolutionize how the U.S. makes and markets food and beverages for children. The company’s first product, a kids’ drink called PLEZi, contains 75% less sugar than average leading 100% fruit juices.
“The collaboration came together so naturally,” Ayesha Curry said in an interview. “We worked with Mrs. Obama during her time as First Lady to support her Let’s Move! initiative.”
Promoting Healthy Choices for Families
The Currys, parents of four, see their alignment with PLEZi as a perfect fit. Stephen Curry emphasized the importance of companies like PLEZi that prioritize health without compromising taste.
“For me, being a father and professional athlete has allowed me to see the impact good nutrition can have on and off the court,” Stephen explained. “Their commitment to making nutrition accessible and fun really resonated with us.”
PLEZi Nutrition’s mission aligns with addressing childhood obesity. Recent CDC research shows obesity prevalence is highest among Hispanic (26.2%) and non-Hispanic Black children (24.8%).
