Beyoncé’s latest musical venture, the country-infused album “Cowboy Carter,” has had a significant impact on the fashion industry.
According to a report by consumer behavior firm Circana, the release of Beyoncé’s album has resulted in a 20% increase in the sales of cowboy boots.
“Since the release of Cowboy Carter, sales for cowboy boots have increased by 20 percent,” the report stated.
Luxury Brands Embrace the Cowboy Aesthetic
This surge in cowboy boot sales is not limited to just the mainstream market. Even luxury fashion houses have embraced the western-inspired trend, with brands like Louis Vuitton introducing bolo ties and cowboy hats in their latest collections.
“French fashion house Louis Vuitton even introduced bolo ties and cowboy hats in its latest collection,” the article noted.
Beyoncé’s Influence Boosts Retail Stocks
The impact of Beyoncé’s country era has also been felt in the stock market, with retail chains specializing in Western apparel seeing a rise in their share prices.
Williams Trading Analyst Sam Poser confirmed the correlation, stating, “We have little doubt that there is a correlation” between Beyoncé’s album release and the increased stock prices of Boot Barn, a popular retailer of Western-style clothing.
Levi’s Rides the Wave of Beyoncé’s Influence
Beyoncé’s impact on the fashion industry extends beyond just cowboy boots. The singer’s name-dropping of Levi’s jeans on “Cowboy Carter” has also elevated the iconic American denim brand.
Levi’s has capitalized on this, with the company’s CEO, Michelle Gass, acknowledging Beyoncé’s influence as “a culture shaper” and the beneficial impact it has had on the brand’s stock prices.
“I don’t think there’s any better evidence or proof point than having someone like Beyoncé, who is a culture shaper, to actually name a song after us,” Gass explained.
Beyoncé’s Proven Track Record as a Trendsetter
This is not the first time Beyoncé has caused a stir in the fashion world. During her Renaissance World Tour, the singer’s request for fans to wear her glittery fashion prompted an increase in silver clothing purchases from small retailers.
While she has not yet announced a tour for “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé has once again proven her ability to shape trends and influence consumer behavior across multiple industries.
