Queen Bey’s Generous Donation to Support Aspiring Stylists
Beyoncé continues to spread her generosity and support for aspiring professionals with her latest philanthropic move.
The iconic singer has donated a staggering $500,000 to cosmetology students and stylists as part of her BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund.
Empowering the Next Generation of Stylists
The funds will be distributed as scholarships to students at ten cosmetology schools nationwide. These institutions were carefully selected for their dedication to providing quality education and supporting diverse communities.
“The money will be distributed in $10,000 scholarships for 25 students pursuing licensure as cosmetologists,” states Atiya Johnson, CEO of Jana’s Cosmetology School in Clementon, New Jersey, one of the recipient schools.
Among the other participating institutions are Beaver Beauty Academy in Atlanta, Trenz Beauty Academy in Chicago, Universal College in Los Angeles, and the Franklin Institute in Houston, representing Beyoncé’s hometown.
Supporting Salon Owners and Licensed Stylists
In addition to student scholarships, the BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund will also provide grants to salon owners and licensed stylists. Twenty-five grants of $10,000 each will be allocated throughout the year, starting April 20, to eligible barbers and stylists who own or rent a space and demonstrate financial need.
Uplifting Hair Professionals and Promoting Inclusivity
Beyoncé’s latest venture, her hair care line Cécred, launched on February 20, aims to uplift all hair types and textures while promoting optimal hair health. The BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund aligns with this mission, supporting the growth and empowerment of hair professionals from diverse backgrounds.
“Beyonce continues to uplift those with goals to achieve. The humanitarian effort’s website has more information on the Cécred Fund,” notes a statement from BeyGood.
