Minnesota CEO’s Inclusive Beauty Line Funds $1K Award For Second-Year
Dr. Satasha Stephen, CEO of the all-natural, diversity-focused cosmetics company SOROR By Satasha Stephen, has renewed her brand’s sponsorship of the annual Miss Black USA pageant’s “Shades of Excellence” $1,000 scholarship.
This marks the second consecutive year Stephen’s St. Paul-based brand, which caters to all skin tones and types with vegan makeup and skincare, has collaborated with the national competition to fund the educational prize.
Shared Values Of Uplifting And Empowering Women
“This made our brand a natural fit for a collaboration with the Miss Black USA organization,” Stephen said, noting SOROR’s dedication to representation, self-care and confidence mirrors the pageant’s mission.
Named after Stephen’s own sisterhood bonded through makeup, SOROR’s thoughtfully formulated, health-conscious products aim to help women enhance their natural beauty. Offering an inclusive lineup was critically important for the CEO.
Furthering A Legacy Of Encouraging Excellence
While new to scholarship sponsorship, Stephen hopes this is just the first of ongoing opportunities to support young Black women leaders making an impact in their communities.
The 2024 “Shades of Excellence” scholarship recipient was announced last week as the pageant’s spring competition kicks off.
With her supportive company ethos and accessible, conscious beauty products, Dr. Satasha Stephen continues carving out space to uplift and celebrate barrier-breaking women. Teaming with Miss Black USA aligns perfectly with those values.
