Crystal Reneé Hayslett Expands Her Talk Series to a New Platform
Crystal Reneé Hayslett is bringing her hit talk series, Keep It Positive, Sweetie (KIPS), to Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Effect Podcast Network. Distributed by iHeartMedia, the move places her empowering conversations on a larger stage designed to amplify Black voices.
Hayslett, best known for her acting in Tyler Perry’s Sistas and Zatima, has steadily built KIPS into more than a show—it’s a movement. Since its 2023 launch, the series has attracted over 11 million YouTube views. Fans connect with Hayslett’s signature mix of humor, honesty, and spiritual grounding.
“Joining The Black Effect Podcast Network is a meaningful moment for me,” Hayslett said. “KIPS is all about bringing comfort and empowerment to our culture.”
A Space for Faith, Healing, and Honest Conversations
The new season under Black Effect kicks off with Grammy-winning songwriter and entrepreneur Kandi Burruss as the first guest. While Hayslett welcomes major names, the real focus lies in meaningful conversations. She leans into topics of faith, growth, and healing instead of quick hot takes.
The format feels both intimate and communal, described as something between a living room confession and a Sunday service sidebar. This balance has made KIPS stand out in a crowded media space. By offering space for vulnerability, Hayslett has tapped into what many fans call a cultural safe haven.
Building a Brand Beyond the Screen
Hayslett has steadily grown Keep It Positive, Sweetie into a full-scale brand. She has self-produced two sold-out live shows, created activations at the BET Experience, and partnered with Sarah Jakes Roberts’ Woman Evolve Conference. On November 22, she will host a live winter show in Washington, D.C., bringing her online audience into real-life community.
Her shift into media does not erase her acting roots but instead expands her reach. Hayslett is moving from talent to architect, shaping culture with her platform rather than waiting for roles. For Black women and wider audiences, this expansion models how creativity can turn into lasting impact.
Aligning With The Black Effect Network’s Mission
The partnership with The Black Effect Podcast Network carries deeper meaning. The network, led by Charlamagne Tha God, was created to highlight Black culture, consciousness, and community through podcasting.
Dollie S. Bishop, president of the network, said: “‘Keep It Positive, Sweetie’ has built a powerful community that shows up for honest conversations, healing and growth – this aligns perfectly with our mission.” With season nine already underway, the collaboration signals a scaling era for Hayslett, where her message can reach even wider audiences.
What started as a digital series has now become a brand, a movement, and a growing machine for empowerment.
