Philadelphia Native Makes History As First Black Chick-fil-A Multi-State Franchisee
An enterprising woman, Sereena Quick, shattered barriers by becoming the first African American woman to own Chick-fil-A franchises across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. She recently opened her third location in her hometown of Philadelphia.
“It really is astounding just this accomplishment to really inspire and motivate the people in our community,” Quick said, aiming to empower youth to realize their potential.
Overcoming Hardship Through Tenacity And Drive
Quick overcame significant odds on her journey to entrepreneurial success. Raised in North Philadelphia public housing by a single mother, she graduated college and worked as a juvenile probation officer before finding her calling in the restaurant industry.
Quick connected with Chick-fil-A owner Jon Hooper while in California, then returned to Philadelphia to learn the ropes from experienced operators like Stanley Webber. Her relentless work ethic fueled a meteoric rise to franchise ownership.
Uplifting Her Community Through Opportunity And Change
The new Chick-fil-A Quick owns is creating over 100 local jobs, enabling her to positively impact the neighborhood she grew up in.
“I am passionate about creating long-term positive change in my community and look forward to this new chapter in the place where I was born and raised,” Quick said.
Quick’s unprecedented achievement demonstrates the power of perseverance. She has paved the way for other women of color aspiring to success in business ownership.
