Megan Thee Stallion shook up the hip-hop world this week with a bombshell double announcement on ABC’s Good Morning America. The Houston rapper confirmed she will drop a new studio album and headline a tour this summer.
Hot Girl Summer Album Officially Confirmed
Speaking live on GMA, Megan revealed plans to release her third full-length album in time for a hot girl summer 2024. This marks her first LP since 2022’s Traumazine.
Though no firm release date was given, Megan noted, “This is going to be the first time that I drop an album on time for the summer.” She has already previewed the project with recent singles “Cobra” and “Hiss.”
The new album caps a period of independence for the star, who parted ways with her label 1501 Certified Entertainment in 2022 after a contract dispute.
Hot Girl Summer Tour Set As Album Support
Megan didn’t stop at the album announcement during her GMA sit-down. She also confirmed her first headlining arena tour will follow this summer.
Dubbed “The Hot Girl Summer Tour,” it will be Meg’s first solo trek since 2019. “I feel like I’ve never been able to be outside doing my own thing during the summer since 2019,” she told GMA. “I do want to give the Hotties the Megan Thee Stallion experience.”
While details are still scarce, fans can expect Meg to pull out all the stops for a larger-than-life Hot Girl Summer 2024. She built excitement by promising to deliver “the experience” onstage.
Heating Up An Already Chaotic Year
The album and tour news adds fuel to the fire of Meg’s already ‘chaotic’ 2024. She dominated headlines recently upon releasing diss track “Hiss” targeting rap rivals Nicki Minaj and Drake.
Nicki quickly clapped back with the incendiary response “Big Foot.” As Meg gears up to hit the road, tensions seem likely to intensify between the two hip hop icons.
But for now, Meg is keeping the focus on making Hot Girl Summer 2024 her biggest yet. With a new album and nationwide tour on the horizon, she seems fully ready to make good on that promise.
