Beloved Tea Haven Adds Second Location
Entrepreneur Sherry Waters has expanded her popular Charlotte tea bar, The Pauline Tea-Bar & Apothecary, by unveiling a second location in the city. Waters first opened Pauline’s in 2019 in the Camp Greene neighborhood, naming it after her grandmother.
The Black woman-owned spot instantly charmed locals with its cozy atmosphere, organic herbal teas, tasty baked goods and overall tranquil vibe perfect for relaxation. Now the super woman founder will bring this same beloved formula to Charlotte’s Historic West End.
Emphasizing Community in New Spot
The new Pauline’s branch, called Thrive Hub, will operate out of a quaint yellow house on Beatties Ford Road. Waters shared that this location will emphasize community gatherings and pay homage to the history of Black-owned teahouses.
Thrive Hub will have a separate tea tasting room for intimate events and meditation ceremonies.
“We’ll also highlight the ancestral linkage to African American tea houses and their relevance as a gathering spot to empower communities,” noted Waters.
Grand Opening Weekend Festivities
To celebrate the new tea bar’s grand opening on, Waters organized a weekend packed with activities like live music, meditation sessions and tea tastings. The scheduling showcased the space as not just a spot for tea, but rather a versatile venue for restoring connections.
Through this expansion, the community-focused founder brings more serenity and togetherness to Charlotte.
