Vanessa Williams Lands Lead Role as Miranda Priestly
Vanessa Williams has landed the coveted lead role of Miranda Priestly in Elton John’s upcoming “The Devil Wears Prada” musical adaptation. Having won roles on Broadway and in London’s West End, Williams is no stranger to musical theater.

West End Debut Slated for October
After preview performances this summer at Theatre Royal Plymouth, “The Devil Wears Prada” musical will open at London’s Dominion Theatre on October 24, 2024. The Dominion is a fitting venue for the story’s larger-than-life characters and high fashion backdrop.
In addition to Williams’ star turn as Miranda Priestly, the creative team boasts impressive credentials. Set design is by Tim Hatley, the talent behind “Life of Pi” and “Back to the Future” on stage. Based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel, which also spawned the 2006 Anne Hathaway film, “The Devil Wears Prada” tracks aspiring writer Andy as she lands a job as assistant to the infamous Miranda Priestly, Runway’s editor-in-chief.” Andy gets seduced by the magazine world’s glamour but struggles to meet her boss’s ridiculous demands while clinging to her personal life.
