It was a monumental night for R&B songstress Victoria Monét at the 2024 Grammy Awards, and her longtime friend Ariana Grande made it even more special.
A Historic Win
Monét took home the Grammy for Best R&B Album for her project “Jaguar II”, beating out Babyface, Coco Jones, Emily King and Summer Walker.
She was also awarded Best New Artist in a stunning upset over contenders Latto, Muni Long and Domi & JD Beck.
On the Grammys red carpet, Monét got emotional when shown Grande’s effusive Instagram tribute congratulating her historic wins.
Years In The Making
“I love you Ari, thank you for being a believer and supporting me from the beginning… you’ve been so ride or die,” a teary-eyed Monét told cameras while holding her daughter.
She and Grande have been close friends since Monét worked on the Nickelodeon show “Victorious.”
As Grande wrote on Instagram: “We’ve talked about this happening since the day we met over many tour bus sleepovers.”
A Powerful Collaboration
Monét has co-written many of Grande’s hits over the years like “thank u, next”, “7 rings” and “needy.” Meanwhile, Grande is featured on Monét’s viral track “Monopoly.”
Their undeniable musical chemistry has led to chart-topping collaborations and now a Grammy win cementing Monét as a talent in her own right.
On the biggest night in music, Monét proved dreams do come true with a little help from good friends. We can’t wait to see what she and Grande cook up next!
