Viral Sensation VanVan Releases New Single
5-year-old rap phenomenon VanVan, real name Savannah McConneaughey, has taken the internet by storm over the past year with her adorable raps and dances.
The pint-sized femcee has amassed an impressive social media following, with nearly 360K Instagram followers and 160K TikTok fans drawn to her infectious talent.
VanVan kicked off 2023 by dropping her new single “Pull Out The Keys” on January 1st along with a fun music video of her freestyling and dancing by a car. The track immediately caught the attention of legendary female MC, Lyte, who shared a clip of VanVan’s video on her own Instagram page.
“Let’s go @therealvanvan_ #PullOutTheKeys,” wrote Lyte, clearly impressed with the little girl’s flow. VanVan’s slick rhymes and mean attitude on the track belies her young age: “So fresh, so clean/ I’m an outcast, my flow’s mean!”

While most 5-year-olds are focused on kindergarten, VanVan is earning viral fame for her freestyling talent. According to her father and manager, Reggie McConneaughey, he first encouraged VanVan to rap to help build up her vocabulary.
“I just throw on a beat. I just throw a subject out there and I just want to see what her vocabulary looks like,” McConneaughey told Complex. Amazingly, VanVan’s vocabulary raps actually helped her ace school exams assessing verbal skills. Her school was evidently “amazed” by her top test scores.
It’s clear that beyond being an adorable viral phenom, VanVan exhibits genuine talent and lyricism. Her advanced language and flow at such a tender age shows huge promise for this femcee in training.
