Jennyfer Crawford-Williams, the driving force behind All Things Detroit Day, has transformed her initial idea and small startup into a thriving movement that uplifts small businesses across Detroit.
As the founder of Ask Jennyfer, a Detroit-based firm specializing in branding and promoting small businesses, Crawford-Williams has dedicated herself to providing exposure and support to entrepreneurs in her community.
Origin Story: From Apartment to Community Empowerment
A decade ago, Crawford-Williams conceptualized All Things Detroit in the comfort of her Detroit apartment.
What began as a vision to enhance the services offered by her consulting operation has blossomed into a dynamic platform for small business owners to connect with customers and promote their brands.
Reflecting on the journey, Crawford-Williams shares,
“Today that guiding mission has evolved into an affair filled with the same effective approach to elevating small businesses, but now resonating in a fun, more memorable and deeper level that works; in a celebration unlike any other.”
Celebrating 10 Years: All Things Detroit Day Anniversary
This year marks the 10th anniversary of All Things Detroit Day, depicting Crawford-Williams’ enduring commitment to supporting Detroit’s small businesses.
The upcoming celebration in April is set to feature over 200 manufacturers and businesses, promising an engaging experience for attendees at Eastern Market.
Expressing her pride in the milestone, Crawford-Williams spoke of the importance of small businesses, stating, “I am proud to say that helping small business owners is my professional purpose. These entrepreneurs are the foundation of our community.”

The Resilience of Ask Jennyfer
In 2014, Crawford-Williams took the leap to run Ask Jennyfer full-time, embarking on her entrepreneurial journey with minimal financial resources. Despite the challenges, she persisted and cultivated a reputable brand marketing firm that now represents over 250 small businesses.
“With about $1,500 in the bank, she forged ahead and grew a reputable brand marketing firm that now represents more than 250 small businesses and draws more than 12,000 guests to successful small business showcase events like All Things Detroit,” the company’s website affirms.
