From Health Expert to Beverage Trailblazer
Dr. Bianca Kiovanni, a chiropractor and functional medicine practitioner in Atlanta, founded Simplicity Beverage Company “by mistake, on purpose” over 10 years ago.
Motivated to create healthy drink options without harsh chemicals, Kiovanni taught herself food science and perfected recipes for flavorful iced teas and lemonades sweetened with sugar cane.
After overcoming hurdles like the pandemic to finally launch her premium non-alcoholic beverages in 2021, Simplicity is now being honored for its positive influence on the local community.
Uplifting the 404
On January 15th, the Atlanta Hawks NBA team and partner UPS launched their “Lift the 404” campaign, recognizing minority-owned businesses making an impact.
Simplicity was chosen as the first honoree in collaboration with the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs.
“I am honored to the Hawks and UPS for choosing Simplicity Beverage Company as a Lift the 404 honoree,” said Dr. Kiovanni.
The company will receive a $5,000 grant and game perks as part of the recognition.
From Motor City Roots to Sweet Southern Success
A Detroit native, Dr. Kiovanni credits her parents for pushing education and self-reliance. “My father was like, we’re not going to do the damsel in distress thing,” she recalled, learning skills like changing tires alongside her siblings.
After decades building her medical practice while tinkering with beverage recipes on the side, Kiovanni is now scaling a booming business with plans to release more flavors.
When the first bottles rolled off the production line, she said, “It was exhilarating. It was exhausting. It was annoying. It was like giving birth.”
From motor city drive to sweet southern charm, Dr. Bianca Kiovanni and Simplicity Beverages are refreshing Atlanta one sip at a time.
