Little Mermaid Star Welcomes First Child, Son Halo
Halle Bailey has a new bundle of joy that has become a part of her world! The notoriously private actress, who never confirmed she was pregnant, wrote on Instagram,
“The greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son”.
The Little Mermaid actress, 23, welcomes the baby with her boyfriend DDG, 26, a son they have named Halo. Bailey announced the birth of her little boy on Instagram, posting a photo of her hand holding that of a tiny hand with a gold bracelet etched with the name “Halo.”
She and rapper DDG have been dating for over a year after going Instagram official in March 2022.
Bailey’s Whirlwind Romance Inspires New Music
In May 2022, Bailey called DDG a real Prince Charming and spoke about discovering herself through the journey of young love. She said her experience inspired her solo album with “deep, deep, real love.”
“You never know what you’re capable of until you’re put through it. I was very creatively inspired, and then from there, I fell in love. And so I really just played with those themes in my music,” Bailey explained.
Her relationship has been a “beautiful transformative time” full of “whirlwind of amazingness.” Bailey is keeping details private but said the love has opened up her creativity.
Fans Speculate Throughout Rumored Pregnancy
Despite Bailey’s privacy about her pregnancy throughout 2022 and 2023, in November 2022, she had to shut down a fan speculating she had a “pregnancy nose” in recent photos.
“I’m Black. I love my nose,” Bailey responded. “What are you concerned about my nose for? Leave me the hell alone.”
Her boyfriend DDG also asked fans to “mind their business” when rumors swirled last week about a possible baby. Yet the rumors proved true with Bailey’s surprise announcement.
The actress only fueled speculation by wearing loose, flowing dresses in recent red carpet appearances, but she refused to comment publicly until revealing her “Halo” this weekend.
Hollywood Stars Congratulate New Mom
Bailey’s Instagram post announcing baby Halo quickly amassed over 3 million likes as Hollywood celebrities flocked to the comments.
“Welcome to earth, Halo. We’ve been expecting you. 😇 congrats, mama!” wrote Nicki Minaj. Other stars like Kylie Jenner, Gabrielle Union, Tia Mowry, Taraji P. Henson and more offered their hearty congratulations.
DDG wrote, “super mom ❤️❤️❤️,” while Bailey’s sister and groupmate Chloe simply commented “Auntie 🥹.”
After surprising the world with her secret pregnancy, Bailey is basking in the joys of first-time motherhood. And her Hollywood peers couldn’t be happier for the new family of three!
